In memory of Gordon Kirkbright 1950-2024
In the summer of 2024 we were shocked with the news of the sudden passing of our tartan designer, friend, and all things tartan mentor Gordon Kirkbright. Gordon’s Wildrose Crieff is the final tartan design we created together. The Highland Dancing community lost a giant in the world of tartan with his passing. His designs, eye for colour choice, and passion for designing tartans resulted in the tartan lines produced by us at Highland In Style and Tartantown which together became known and respected around the world as “Canadian Tartans”. These tartans stood-out with their vibrant colours, traditional Scottish heritage designs, and superior quality wool yarns. Having never knowing him, literally THOUSANDS of dancers around the world have danced in a tartan designed by our dear friend Gordon. We hope to always remember him by naming this tartan in his honour.

100% Wool GORDON'S WILDROSE CRIEFF.  Please select either YARD or METRE when ordering.  Leave the quantity as "1" unless you require more than 5 yards/metres.

All plaids are made of 100% wool and are milled in Scotland exclusively for Highland In Style. This particular tartan matches the following velvet colours.

  • Black
  • Wildrose
  • Bright Turquoise (for a distinct eye catching contrast)
